As a busy mom, summer somehow feels both relaxing and completely chaotic at the same time. Between lake days, weekend road trips, kids activities, golf outings, family BBQs, vacations, and trying to keep everyone fed, I feel like I'm constantly on the move. The last thing I have time for is standing in my closet trying to piece together an outfit.
And that's exactly why I love dresses.
A dress is the ultimate one-and-done outfit. No matching required. No wondering which top goes with which shorts. No trying on three different outfits before deciding you hate all of them. You simply throw on a dress, add a pair of sandals, sneakers, or wedges, and suddenly you look like you put in way more effort than you actually did.
Honestly, dresses have saved me more times than I can count.
There have been plenty of summer mornings when I wake up knowing the day is going to be a marathon. Maybe it starts with a coffee run, turns into a trip to the farmers market, somehow includes a last-minute lunch with friends, and ends at a patio dinner. The schedule changes a dozen times before noon, and somehow the dress I threw on at 8 a.m. is still working by 8 p.m.
